Animatronic Eyes

Having some time off last February, I was looking for a fun project with the goal of combining several areas of interest to me: electronics, fabrication, and animatronics.

This is what I came up with. It's a set of eyes and a pair of eyelids that are controlled by light sensors. This simple animatronic is based on a sketch(code) for the Arduino Uno Microcontroller that takes analog input voltage level, and maps it to a PWM(pulse width modulation) output to drive a couple of servos motors. A photo resistor is used to allow light to control eyelid movement.
